RTF students are creators and dreamers and we offer numerous opportunities to share their outstanding work. Additionally, Austin is home to many amazing film, music and media festivals that provide student internships, volunteer experiences and exposure to creative work.

Longhorn Denius Film Showcase


Each year at SXSW, RTF presents the Longhorn Denius Student Film Showcase. The showcase highlights a rich diversity of recent fiction, documentary, and experimental student films.The free screening is co-hosted by the Austin Film Society and is open to the public.

RTF Screenwriters Festival


All Write! All Write! All Write! This two-day undergraduate screenwriting festival provides an opportunity to learn and practice where to start with an idea for a television series or a movie, television and feature film structure and character development. The festival includes food, prizes, and a ton of fun!

Throughout each semester, our students are practicing their craft and creating new work in storytelling, production, comics, video games, cinematography and more. We are proud to present this work to our community and the public at the end of each semester.

Robert Foshko Memorial Scholarship & Screenplay Competition


Named in honor of Robert Foshko, former UT screenwriting professor, two scripts are chosen each year from our undergraduate and graduate programs. Winners receive a cash prize and their scripts are circulated to industry professionals.

Animation Celebration

The world of animation has never been more wild and wonderful. From classic stop motion to Pixar wizardry, killer CGI to surrealistic anime—the limits to this visual artform seem endless. This two-day event celebrates and demystifies the art of cinematic illusion.

Game Audio Con

Great sound plays an important role in making a video game successful. Game Audio Con hosted a series of panels with top game audio professionals discussing a range of topics and networking opportunities.
