MA Student
A native San Franciscan, Aaron comes to Austin after spending the past seven years in the trenches of LA’s food and film scenes. Prior to that, he graduated from The New School with a BA in Film Criticism.
Aaron is interested in the effects of globalization on the contemporary film market, genre fare that toes the line between high and low art, 21st-century cinematic innovation (namely screen life), the art of the critical biography, and DIY film programming as a means of archiving and preservation. His favorite directors are John Ford, Paul Verhoeven, Robert Bresson, Samuel Fuller, Gregg Araki, Abel Ferrara, Brian De Palma, William Friedkin, Ulrich Seidl and Bruno Dumont.
